olas—Spanish—waves
opihi—a small crustacean collected and eaten in Hawaii
pidgin—in this case Hawaiian pidgin, a mixed language of Hawaiian, English, Portuguese and various Asian languages
poi—a traditional Hawaiian staple, poi is a thick paste made from pounded root
randavel—a circular hut made with walls of mud and manure and a conical, thatch roof
